Meet Kim, a Valued On The Mend Team Member
Kim’s dedication and warmth have played a big role in shaping both our growth and the care we provide. At On The Mend, our people make the difference and in this issue, we are proud to highlight one of our longtime team members whose heart and commitment have been central to our success.
Here is what Kim had to share about her journey with On The Mend so far:
1. Where did you grow up, how big was your family?
I grew up in Sylvan Beach, a small town in upstate New York. I’m the second of six children, so there was always plenty of activity around the house!
2. What have you done professionally?
Over the years, I’ve worked at a plumbing supply store, a medical billing office, and a gift shop. Those experiences eventually led me to Bed Bath & Beyond, where I spent 15 years growing from sales associate to assistant store and operations manager. My last stop—and my favorite—has been On The Mend Medical Supplies & Equipment!
3. Favorite job and why?
I enjoyed Bed Bath & Beyond for a while because it allowed me to organize and do lots of resets, which I found satisfying. However, I was happy to move on and join On The Mend. Here, I get to do some of the same things, but also so much more. Most importantly, I love helping people and working with a team of like-minded individuals.
4. How do you like spending free time?
Spending time with my two grandchildren and my sons is my greatest joy. In addition, I love relaxing outdoors, sitting on a park bench with a good book is one of my favorite simple pleasures.
5. 2025 and beyond goals?
At this point in my life, I try to take one day at a time. My focus is on staying as healthy as I can, enjoying life fully, and always keeping myself moving forward.
6. Why do you like working at OTM?
Working at On The Mend is deeply rewarding because we truly help people every day. Hearing the relief in their voices or even seeing their tears of gratitude when we say, “Yes, we can help you,” makes every effort worthwhile.
7. Favorite restaurant or things to cook and eat?
I don’t have one particular favorite restaurant or meal. Instead, I like exploring different foods and places to eat. At home, I also enjoy cooking a variety of meals and trying new recipes.
8. Travel destination?
I’ve been fortunate to visit Colorado, which was breathtaking, and Montana, where I celebrated my son’s graduation. Looking ahead, I’d love to see Italy someday or maybe take a trip to a tropical island like Aruba!
On The Mend has grown so much during my time here, and it’s been fun to be part of all the change and progress.
