Hot off the press! (we could not help ourselves) We’re excited to introduce our newest OTM Team Member, Christine Mangi. She is taking New York by storm! We could not be happier to have this effusive, energetic teammate. She’s been out in the community and working in the store. Do yourself a favor and stop by Mt. Kisco to meet her! Get to know her more in our interview below.
Best Job you have had and why?
The best job of all is being a mom and grandma. Loving, supporting, and influencing through good times as well as overcoming challenges. To be the cheerleader sitting in the stands watching a basketball tournament or behind a glass wall watching my poised ballerina. Now it’s grandma time to enjoy, cherish…knowing how quickly time passes, to create fun memories, and to spoil my two little girls.
What brought you to On The Mend?
I was looking for a career in a field that helps others. I found an ad on Indeed and felt I fit the description for what both OTM and me were looking for. With that being said, I hesitated the day of the interview thinking it might not be a fun career given the nature of the business. Well, often it’s not the job itself but more about the people you work with. Liam, Marsi, and the large team I met with on that interview day (not intimidating at all by the way) were so dynamic, positive, enthusiastic, laughed easily, and not your typical interview process. I just had to be a part of this forward thinking, moving mountains, making it happen team. – No, I wasn’t paid to say that!
Short term goal?
Business – I’m concentrating on creating a buzz for OTM Mt. Kisco and to help grow into the business and to receive the recognition it deserves. Shooting for the stars with a 50% increase from last year.
Personal – Great physical health by working out 4x/week and achieving goal weight by end of November, 2022.
Long term goal?
Business – Expand the OTM business into other states, specifically South Florida. Open the store and see it to success!
Personal – Retire comfortably in West Palm Beach, FL in several years.
How has your OTM experience been so far?
I have to say it’s all been very positive with Liam and Marsi at the head of the table. Always approachable and asking what they can do to support me. They easily compliment on a job well done. I truly love the dedication that comes from the top down. The challenging part was getting familiar with items that no one knows about until you need it. It’s coming quite naturally as assisting others and helping those who need us is very rewarding.
What is your favorite restaurant?
This is a tough one. There are so many great restaurants like the local “hole in the wall” that delivers great homemade food, to the beautiful restaurants along the Hudson River. I will say at this very moment my favorite restaurant is in Newburgh, NY along the water – Blu Pointe. Great seafood, beautiful ambiance inside and outside. Highly recommend it!
